The National Museum of Natural History
The National Museum of Natural History is located at Tsar Osobodiel 
Blvd in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. It is an oldest museum in 
Bulgaria. The museum was founded in 1889. The collection of museum 
includes numerous samples and species of the flora, fauna, rocks and 
fossils. The exhibitions of the National Museum of Natural History 
occupy 15 halls on 4 floors of the building in the heart of Sofia. The 
museum is open from 10.00 a.m. to 06.00 p.m. Tickets cost 4 BGN.
The Monastery of Saint Ivan of Rila
The Monastery of Saint Ivan of Rila is known as the Rila Monastery. 
It is located inside of Rila Monastery Nature Park in the southwestern 
Rila Mountains. The monastery is a famous tourist destination and 
largest Eastern Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria. The Rila Monastery was 
founded in the 10th century by St John of Rila. It is a UNESCO World 
Heritage Site. The monastery courtyard, the Birth of the Virgin Mary 
Temple, Hrelyo’s Tower, the museum, the residential and the farming 
buildings are surrounded by 22 m-high stone walls. The complex occupies 
8800 sq.m. The monastery is open for tourist from 08.00 a.m. to 06.00
