Germany
Germany is officially known as the Federal Republic of Germany or
FRG. It is a sovereign state in West-Central Europe. The country is
bordered by Denmark to the north, Poland and the Czech Republic to the
east, Austria to the southeast, Switzerland to the south, France,
Luxemburg and Belgium to the west, and the Netherlands to the northwest.
Germany is washed by the North Sea to the northwest, and the Baltic Sea
to the northeast. The country also shares a border with Switzerland and
Austria on the fresh-water Lake Constance, one of the largest lakes in
Europe. Germany consists of 16 constituent states. The country is a
federal parliamentary republic. Germany is a leading member of the
European Union. The country has one of the largesе economies in the
