Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal is the world-famous ivory-white marble mausoleum. It located in Agra, India, on the banks of the river Yamuna. The Taj Mahal was built by the sultan Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth fourteenth child. Taj Mahal is considered the jewel of Muslim art in India. The tomb is the centerpiece of a great complex, which includes a mosque and a guest house and gardens. The complex bounded on three sides by a crenellated wall. Taj Mahal included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Great Wall of China
Great Wall of China is the largest monument of architecture. It is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials. It is visible even from space. The wall runs along the northern China. China’s official Great Wall survey puts the total length at 21,196 kilometers. Construction of the first sections of the wall began in the 3rd century BC to protect the state from the Hsiung-nu. Part of the Great Wall that was built during the Ming Dynasty has survived to our time.
Pyramids of Giza
Pyramids of Giza are the complex of ancient monuments on the Giza plateau on the outskirts of Cairo. Pyramids building began with the late third dynasty and continued until roughly the sixth. One of the pyramids, the Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) is the only remaining of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The complex of pyramids of Giza consists of the Cheops pyramid, known as the Great Pyramid, and the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. The Great Pyramid was the tallest man-made structure in the world for more than 3,800 years. The surface of the pyramids was covered with slabs of polished white limestone. There is the Great Sphinx to the east of the pyramids.
Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu is the ancient city of America, located on the territory of modern Peru. Machu Picchu was included in the list of the new wonders of the world in 2007. This city is often called a "city in the sky." The city was established as a sacred mountain refuge of the Inca ruler Pachacutec great century before the conquest of his empire. All residents of the city mysteriously disappeared in 1532. Over 400 years, the city was abandoned, it was discovered in 1911. Machu Picchu has buildings where the pieces fit together so tightly that not even a knife blade can slide between them.
Stonehenge

This is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. Stonehenge included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. According to current research, the construction dates back to the Bronze Age. Until now, the purpose of Stonehenge remains a mystery, despite a lot of assumptions.
